The Groups
Trauma-Informed Group Exercise & Indoor Cycling
Our Flow Space MOVE! groups blend resilience skills via mindfulness, grounding and other evidence-based therapeutic practices with healthy movement that might include cycling, strength and aerobic conditioning, stretching or yoga. Each group is trauma-informed by design. Safety, empowerment, and choice guide everything we do. All movement groups use invitations rather than directives, focus on adaptable movements, and offer clear guidance so you can move at your own pace.
Indoor cycling at Flow Space VT is not about performance or intensity (unless of course you want it to be… because that’s the point- YOU choose what feels good). What we really strive for is using rhythmic, intentional movement to support nervous-system regulation, emotional resilience, and mental wellbeing. These groups combine cycling with evidence-based stress management practices, grounding techniques, and psychoeducation (aka interesting information!) — all within a supportive, choice-based environment. These are not high-pressure spin classes (not throwing shade on those, just not us!). There is no yelling, no competition, and no expectation to “push through.” Nor are these considered therapy. Instead we focus on resilience skills, internal awareness and focusing on what matters to us, together as a supportive community.
Wellness Workshops & Support Groups
We offer workshops spanning themes of stress management, health behavior change, mindfulness, self-care foundations, and other integrative topics. We also offer rotating support groups for specific populations ranging from young adults managing the “quarter life crisis” to parents managing the grind that is parenthood embedded in hustle culture, and everyone in between. All workshop and group participants leave with practical tools they can use in everyday life.

Hi, I’m Kate
I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor, Health Educator, and Certified Personal Trainer/Group Exercise Instructor.
Specializing in the crossover between mental and physical health.
I became interested in this “crossover” work shortly after graduating from college. After a sedentary (and anxious) few years, I decided to take up jogging. And after just a few days, I noticed how good I felt- not only in my body, but in my head as well. Exercise led to better eating habits, which led to better sleep, and on and on. I loved how these habits provided me with a physical sense of well being, on top of boosting my self esteem and confidence. Additionally, I found movement to be a perfect outlet for mindfulness practice.
I loved learning about the connections between mental, physical and social health. Having already started my career in community mental health, I thought, why not focus on “all” instead of focusing on “one”? I decided to pursue two graduate degrees- one in Mental Health Counseling and Behavioral Medicine, and the other in Health Sciences. Additionally, I hold certifications in personal training and indoor cycling, and have attended numerous integrative health trainings, including a recent trauma-informed weight lifting course. As a lifelong learner, I am always seeking to better understand the biopsychosocial connection, and work with people to achieve greater health and well being.
I find it to be amazing that in some cases, we can transform our mental health simply by engaging in healthy behaviors. And likewise, I’m amazed at the healing power of mindfulness and other therapeutic practices when it comes to our physical health needs.
Flow Space VT came to be after many years spent practicing individual psychotherapy in private practice. As much as I love working with individuals, I have always been incredibly excited about group work. So many possibilities open up when we share our experiences with others- even when no words are spoken! Not to mention the ways group services pave the way for more accessible and affordable support. So after many YEARS of dreaming, I’ve finally taken the leap, expanded my practice, and teamed up with some amazing clinicians and wellness practitioners to bring our community a WHOLE PERSON approach to casual and accessible mental wellness support!
